DataSunrise Masking for Cloudberry Database
DataSunrise masking for Cloudberry Database obfuscates real sensitive data to fake ones. Data Masking hides real data from unauthorized users and shows real data only to users with certain access. There are two types of data masking: dynamic and static. Dynamic masking obfuscates data at the moment of a query, and static masking makes a database copy and masks data there.
DataSunrise provides Cloudberry data masking for effective protection against sensitive data leaks. Cloudberry data masking tools can be used to avoid data breaches by replacing real data from selected columns with retaining the original structure of data. It is useful when companies provide access to data for third parties, such as developers and testers. DataSunrise uses the same algorithms for dynamic and static data masking but they have some differences in the way they are used.
For static data masking, DataSunrise makes a copy of the Cloudberry database and masks selected columns according to pre-set rules. There is no way to retrieve the original data from statically masked data, but it can provide a backdoor for a breach when the data is extracted from the database. Also, there may be a need to update the data daily.
Dynamic data masking is performed at the time of the request, so changes are made in the database. Cloudberry data masking feature intercepts the query and changes it according to pre-set masking rules, thus the requester will receive masked data.
Cloudberry Data Masking tool hides database entries according to the masking Rules set by database owners or admins. You can use this tool to obfuscate more than 20 types of sensitive data including but not limited to emails, credit card numbers, addresses, etc. Masking Rules are highly adjustable to make sure that they meet any of our customer’s requirements.
